The Kornati Islands are a stone labyrinth of eighty-nine islands, islets and rocks in the sea.
The Kornati National Park was proclaimed in 1980. The total area of the park is about 220 km² and consists of 89 islands, islets and cliffs. From the surface of the park, only about 1/4 is mainland while the rest of the marine ecosystem. The drywall on the Kornati Islands is silent and persistent witness to the painstakingness of human labor on a wretched land in a stone surrounded by crystal clear Adriatic Sea.
The Kornati are a stone labyrinth of eighty-nine islands, islets and rocks in the sea. The islands are in the National Park in two rows - Kornati and Piškerski. The name was given to the largest island, Kornati. The largest bay within the boundaries of the Park is 6 kilometers.
Telaščica Bay is situated in the southeastern part of the island of Dugi otok. Telaščica was declared a Nature Park in 1988. The Kornati and Telaščica Areas are about twenty kilometers from Turnja and our accommodation units.
